Web Comics

Starting with Dilbert, which is of course very popular among technical people, I began reading web comics around 1997. After looking through the other ones at United Media, I discovered Keenspace/Keenspot. For quite a few years now my web comic reading list is large enough I don't look for others by myself, but sometimes I follow a hint picked up here and there. My current regular list is:
  • Arlo & Janis
  • Betty
  • College Roomies from Hell
  • 9 Chickweed Lane
  • Day by Day
  • Dilbert
  • Doonesbury
  • For Better or for Worse
  • General Protection Fault
  • Herman
  • The Joy of Tech!
  • Jump Start
  • Luann
  • Monty
  • Nancy
  • Peanuts
  • Penny and Aggie
  • Rose is Rose
  • Striptease
  • User Friendly
  • The Wandering Ones
  • xkcd
There is still a large proportion of comics syndicated by United Media (and I started with For Bette4r or for Worse there, too). That is not only due to their quality (although they have a high standard, admittedly), but also because they tend to stay around long. There are others which apparently have ceased to exist, or rather, stopped being updated or vanished in some other way. Those that I remember are:
  • Alice
  • Helen, Sweetheart of the Internet
  • Mason Darrow, non-profit lawyer
  • Sexy Losers
I just noticed that "Candi" seems to have been restarted.
