Robert Louis Stevenson: Kidnapped
Mar. 19th, 2007 08:48 amThe first batch of David Balfour's adventures not only lured me away from "Snow Crash" easily, but also kept its promise of being nice and simple and suspenseful, a classical adventure story and "boys novel". Very interesting especially in relation to Gabaldon's "Highlander" series; Stevenson was, of course, closer to the historical and emotional situation of 18th century Scotland, but both descriptions fit together well.
I am already into "Catriona", which is contained in the same volume.
